Simon joined Shangilia in 2000 with his brothers James and Sammy.
Then he was just a few months old. They were taken to Shangilia by the police. His mother, severely abused by her husband, had fled their home with the children. In search of a safe place she gave up her children at a police station and went to get their personal belongings out of their house. The policemen agreed to take the children into their care for a few hours. In fact, it was a misunderstanding, because she did not come back to pick up her children. The brothers spent the night in the house of a police officer and were then taken to Shangilia the next day.
Simon finished 8th grade with good results. He is a student with a lot of potential and attends secondary school. He is a member of the Shangilia Brass Band, the football team and the acrobatics team
